The comprehensive digitalisation of the Public Health Service (ÖGD) is no longer negotiable - it is overdue. Why? Here are the key points:
1️⃣ Efficiency and speed instead of bureaucracy:
Connection to the telematics infrastructure (TI) must be fast and targeted. Delays caused by bureaucratic hurdles are unacceptable, because every delay costs valuable time - and in the worst case, human lives.
2️⃣ Interoperability and data protection:
Digital solutions in the healthcare sector must work together perfectly to ensure a smooth exchange between practices, clinics and health authorities. At the same time, maximising the protection of sensitive healthcare data remains a key obligation.
3️⃣ Ongoing optimisation:
Digitalisation is not a one-off project. The connection must be regularly evaluated, adapted and further developed in order to be prepared for future pandemics or crises.
4️⃣ Practical support from gematik:
With the publication of the checklist for the TI connection of the ÖGD and further information, e.g. on the issue of institution cards (SMC-B), gematik provides health authorities with practical tools to accelerate the digital transformation.
5️⃣ Shared responsibility:
The Interop Council, together with the KIG, could play a decisive role in the standardisation and development of digital solutions in future. Recommendations, positions and expertise must be more closely integrated.
❗ The consequences of inaction:
Without nationwide digitalisation, the ÖGD will remain an inefficient relic of the past. We risk once again being unprepared for the next crisis - with considerable social and economic damage.
💡 Conclusion:
There are no more excuses. The digital transformation of the ÖGD is long overdue. The first steps have been taken - but we must continue with determination. Any further delay is irresponsible.

Introducing the spasticity app - a digital health solution for stroke patients with spasticity that helps them recognise symptoms early and take targeted action.
🎯 Challenge:
Spasticity is a painful and stressful consequence of a stroke for many patients. There is often a lack of clear structures and recommendations for effective treatment.
🚀 Solution:
The spasticity app offers:
✅ Traffic light principle: weekly questionnaires help to recognise changes at an early stage.
✅ Clear recommendations: It shows whether a visit to a doctor, neurologist or physiotherapist is necessary.
✅ Holistic support: video consultations and personalised exercises.
📢 Goal:
Establish the app as a DiGA to reach more patients - nationally and internationally.
💡 Why is this important?
- Together, we can revolutionise stroke care.
- In the long term, the app could become a central pillar of neurological care not only in Germany, but also internationally.
- It provides orientation, safety and sustainably improves the quality of life of those affected.
🙏 My invitation to you:
Let's take this project to the next level together. I look forward to your support, suggestions and ideas - together we can achieve great things!
Thank you for reading and sharing! 💪
Rural regions have very different needs to metropolises like Munich. 🏡👨⚕️ This is where networks of doctors can play a decisive role in optimising care for people - individually, efficiently and humanely.
💡 An example of success? In Baden-Württemberg, a pioneering concept has been developed in which GP and specialist contracts are intelligently linked. Supported by funding organisations such as AOK Baden-Württemberg, this model shows how patients can benefit from a seamless network.
The result: the highest quality of care and close cooperation between GPs and specialists. It is precisely this concept that we can also adapt in Bavaria - and expand it further with the existing networks of doctors!
Why doctors' networks are the future:
✔ For patients: A network of GPs and specialists working hand in hand ensures seamless care and the highest quality. Every person is seen as an individual - and not as a number. 🙌
✔ For cost-effectiveness: networks of doctors create transparency, prevent unnecessary duplicate examinations, reduce bureaucracy and utilise financial resources efficiently. 💰
✔ For society: Instead of financing isolated sectors, we invest in networked structures that reduce costs and at the same time enable better care.
What does that mean in concrete terms?
A strong network of doctors combines general practitioner management, specialist expertise and regional coordination. It is a solution that is flexible, patient-centred and future-proof. The goal is clear: a healthcare system that puts people and their individual needs at the centre.
🤝 Act together now! Politicians, health insurance companies and networks such as MediBayern must work together to strengthen doctors' networks in Bavaria and throughout Germany. The opportunity is there - let's create a healthcare system that really works!
❤️ Your health is our mission. Let's lay the foundations today for a future-proof, sustainable and humane healthcare system.
We are facing major challenges: Overloaded emergency departments 🏥, inefficient patient guidance 🧭 and a lack of networking 🌐 are putting a strain on our healthcare system. Together with the doctors' network GOIN e.V. 🤝, the Bavarian Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians and Ingolstadt Hospital 🏨, I am working on developing a pilot project that will serve as a blueprint for efficient and digitally supported emergency care.
Our goal:
✔️ Precisely direct patient flows 🧭
✔️ Making sensible use of digitalisation 💻📲
✔️ Seamlessly linking outpatient and inpatient care 🔗
Now is the time to act! ⏰ I am looking for supporters, sponsors and fellow campaigners 💪 to make this vision a reality. Let's set the course for better healthcare together!
The introduction of the electronic patient record (EPR) is a key step towards modern, secure and patient-centred healthcare. 🏥💻
In today's video, I explain:
✅ What benefits the ePA offers patients and us doctors.
🔒 Why data security is a top priority and how we can deal constructively with criticism.
Watch the video and find out why I believe the ePA is an indispensable step forward - despite the challenges. 🚀
We are at a turning point. It is time to boldly reform our healthcare system and turn digitalisation into a success story. The electronic patient record (EPR) for all is more than just a technical project - it is the key technology for fair, innovative and people-centred care!
💡 Freedom through technology: digitalisation creates self-determination and dignity - for patients and service providers alike.
⚡ Competition & solidarity: Innovation must not be the enemy. We need structures that promote competition and at the same time strengthen social solidarity.
🔒 Patient protection over data protection: Patients' freedom of choice must not be jeopardised by bureaucratic hurdles. It's about lives, not just data!
🚀 Vision and courage: 2025 is just around the corner. It's up to us to drive digital healthcare forward - with pragmatism, passion and a firm belief in success.
Let's shape digital healthcare in a human way. For a future in which technology enriches lives and not just optimises processes.
👉 Watch my video to the end - I look forward to hearing what you think! And if you share the idea of a digital healthcare revolution, I would be delighted if you would share this video with your network. Together we can make a difference!
In my presentation, I would like to clarify a frequently misunderstood difference: Overweight and obesity are not the same thing! 🚫🤔
📊 Overweight means a moderate increase in body weight (BMI 25-29.9 kg/m²).
🔴 Obesity, on the other hand, describes a greater increase in weight with health risks (BMI ≥ 30 kg/m²) and is divided into three degrees of severity:
1️⃣ Grade 1 (BMI 30-34.9)
2️⃣ Grade 2 (BMI 35-39.9)
3️⃣ Grade 3 (BMI ≥ 40, also known as morbid obesity).
Obesity is a chronic disease that must be taken seriously! 🏥⚠️ It increases the risk of type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease and even certain types of cancer. The WHO and other organisations emphasise that we need to take action here! 📈
🌍 The facts speak for themselves: over 650 million adults worldwide are affected by obesity. In Germany, it is already over 20% - and the trend is rising! 😟
Why are we still struggling with this disease? One big reason is the lack of trained nutritionists. Even though there are digital health applications, the necessary treatments are often not sufficiently available. 📱💻
The introduction of the disease management programme for obesity is an important step.
I call on all colleagues to actively campaign for better care for obesity patients! 🙌🤝
Together we can provide the support that these patients urgently need! 💪❤️
Every year, around 200,000 people in Germany are affected by a stroke - plus 65,000 repeat cases. Strokes are one of the most common causes of permanent disability and cost 8.6 billion euros a year. 💸 More than 80 % of this is spent on aftercare.
⚠️ The challenge: Stroke patients require complex and interdisciplinary care. Complications such as spasticity or motor impairments often occur, which require intensive aftercare. Up to 40% of those affected develop spasticity, which can significantly impair their quality of life.
💡 Our solution: We are developing a structured DMP that integrates modern, digital health solutions such as the spasticity app.
🏥 Economic relevance: The annual costs per patient average 43,000 euros. A digitally supported DMP can help to reduce these costs and avoid repeated hospitalisations. Telemedicine and digital health monitoring ensure personalised, optimised therapy.
🤝 We need your support! Together with experts from medicine, specialist societies and payers, we want to set up an innovative, evidence-based programme. 🚀

Our professional doctor has been a doctor for many decades - and a lot has changed in that time.
From new treatment methods to exciting medical breakthroughs, he has witnessed a lot. But one thing remains a constant: digitalisation.
Our professional doctor sees this as the big ‘game changer’ in healthcare, but in practice it often feels like trying to turn an old bike into an e-scooter 🚲➡️🛴.
While politicians are talking about digital revolutions, our professional doctor is battling his way through software problems and data protection regulations.
But Prof Dr Jedamzik sees the potential! Electronic patient files can finally reduce the eternal pile of paper in the consulting room 📄🚫 and telemedicine offers new opportunities to care for patients remotely 🌐. But realising this is a daily balancing act. Every time he thinks things are finally running smoothly, the next update pops up - and of course exactly when the system is needed most 🤦♂️.
Despite everything, he keeps at it. Our professional doctor has resolved not only to keep pace, but also to be at the forefront, because he firmly believes that digitalisation can improve care for all patients 💪.
Of course, the road is often rocky, but our professional doc is convinced: ‘If you want to shape the future, you also have to get through the digital jungle 🌿. After all, he has already mastered many challenges as a doctor - he won't let a few bytes slow him down! 💻🚀’
What do you think about digitalisation?
Our professional Doc. is very much looking forward to today's Games Brunch at the CSU regional office in Munich 🏥🎮. Today is all about gamification and he can't wait to actively participate in the discussion on the topic of medicine as part of the audience. The aim is to find out how we can successfully implement these innovative concepts in the medical field.
Many patients with asthma, diabetes or depression take their medication irregularly - a serious problem 🩺❌ that can lead to health setbacks and unnecessary stress. This is where we urgently need innovative digitalisation in the healthcare sector 🚀💡!
‘Meditainment’ shows how this can be done: a combination of nudging and gamification makes taking daily medication fun and entertaining 🎮💊.
Digital tools use incentives such as points, rewards and challenges to increase motivation 🏆🎯. Smart, personalised reminders provide the necessary boost if you forget to take your tablets: ‘Time for your health boost!’ 🌟📲. With real-time data, doctors can keep an overview and quickly adjust treatment if necessary 📊👩⚕️.
We need digital innovations like these to make the healthcare system fit for the future and improve patients' quality of life 🌱🧘♂️. Turning the medication routine into a daily ‘self-care upgrade’ - for better health and less stress!
🩺💬 Our Pro Doc reports on the introduction of the health insurance card and digitalisation in the healthcare sector - and from January 2025, another milestone will be reached: the nationwide introduction of the electronic patient file (ePA)! 📲📁
***
The #epa makes it possible to store important health data centrally and make it accessible at any time. 🏥🔍 In future, patients will be able to manage all relevant information such as findings, prescriptions and medical reports securely in one place. 🚑📑 This not only makes it easier for doctors to exchange information, but also improves treatment by avoiding duplicate examinations. ⚕️📝
***
A lot has happened since the introduction of the health insurance card in 1995 - the ePA is a further step towards a fully digital healthcare system. 🏃♂️💻 But what challenges does this development entail and how do patients benefit from it? 🤔🔐

Did you know - the electronic patient file (ePA) is like a digital health cockpit! 🚀🩺
It gives patients and doctors a complete overview of all important information at all times - from diagnoses and medication plans to lab results. No more tedious paperwork, no more scattered medical reports - everything centralised in one place. This saves time, stress and avoids unnecessary duplicate examinations. 🏥✨
For patients, this means more control and transparency: they can actively shape their health data and know exactly what information is important for their treatment. Doctors also benefit as they have all the relevant data at a glance and can therefore act more quickly and in a more targeted manner - a real lifesaver, especially in emergencies. 🚑⚡️
And don't worry: data protection is guaranteed! 🔐 The ePA uses state-of-the-art encryption technology and strict security standards to ensure that personal health data is optimally protected. This makes the ePA not only a practical tool, but also an important step towards future-proof and digital healthcare. 📱💡
In short: less paper chaos, more health and lots of convenience. 🙌📈
WE SAY YES TO THE EPA!

The electronic patient file (ePA) is not just practical - it's the superhero of data! 🦸♂️ In emergencies, every second counts, and without an ePA, we feel like Sherlock without a magnifying glass. 🔍 Instead of laboriously searching for vital information, we have everything at our fingertips with the ePA: chronic illnesses, allergies, medication - bang, bang, bang! This means we can act immediately instead of getting bogged down in data chaos, and best of all, we save lives. 💪🚑 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐮𝐦 𝐝𝐢𝐞 𝐞𝐏𝐀 𝐮𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐳𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐭𝐛𝐚𝐫 𝐢𝐬𝐭:
1. faster decisions:
Immediate access to all important patient data means fewer queries and shorter waiting times for patients
2. targeted treatment:
Important pre-existing conditions and treatments are immediately visible, enabling targeted and rapid treatment - ideal in combination with the new triage system.
3. higher quality of care:
Without the ePA, there is always a risk of overlooking crucial info. Direct access to medical data minimises this risk and improves the quality of care.
4. relief for staff:
Less administrative work means more time for treatment. This benefits not only the patient, but also the medical staff.
The ePA is like a magic wand for emergency practices: wave it once and everything runs faster, safer and with less stress! So, what are we waiting for? Let's set the course for the emergency care of tomorrow - otherwise we'll soon be declaring an emergency for emergency care! 🚑✨
Imagine you walk into the doctor's surgery and the doctor asks you: ‘What medication are you currently taking?’ - You think to yourself: ‘Hmmm, there was something with long names and lots of letters...’ 🤔
That's where the electronic patient file comes in! With your consent 👍🏻, the doctor immediately has all the important information at hand: previous illnesses, medication and everything else you tend to forget.
It can really make the difference in an emergency! 🚑💡
Our doctor also unpacks some exciting stories! 🩺💬 Why is the electronic patient file such a game changer for our on-call practice GOIN? It's very easy: our doctors know
know directly in an emergency whether you have an allergic reaction to medication or which pre-existing conditions could play a role. 🚨
Sounds practical, doesn't it?
Take your time to think about it - but we can only advise you to give your GP and health insurance company the go-ahead for the ePA and save you and your doctor a lot of guesswork. 😉 #stayhealthy ! 💡
Our doctor explains: Why study the package leaflet when the pharmacy already knows your medication plan? 😄 Thanks to the electronic patient record (EPR), visits to the pharmacy are now much easier and safer! 💡💊
From 2025, the electronic patient record (EPR) will be available to everyone - unless they actively object. This means that doctors and pharmacists will be able to access important health data to ensure the best possible treatment.
With the ePA, pharmacists can view important health data such as medication plans directly - only if you want to, of course! What this means for you:
✅ More safety: interactions and intolerances are recognised at an early stage.
✅ Faster advice: no more long explanations or paperwork.
✅ Better care: Pharmacists have direct access to all relevant information and can therefore offer you the best possible support.
Your health data is secure and under your control at all times. You decide who can see what! We say ‘YES’ to the ePA.
