Connected and efficient: Digital solutions for medicine

Digital Health Solutions and Infrastructure

Digital health solutions and a robust infrastructure are the backbone of modern telemedicine. Applications such as the electronic patient record (ePA), the e-prescription or digital health applications (DiGA) enable seamless networking between patients and service providers. Standards such as HL7 FHIR and the telematics infrastructure (TI) ensure secure data exchange and promote interoperability. These technologies create a basis for making healthcare more efficient, accessible and patient-oriented.

  • Digital health applications (DiGA): Apps for diagnostics, therapy, prevention.
  • e-prescription and eAU: Electronic transmission of prescriptions and certificates.
  • Interoperability: Standards such as HL7 FHIR, IHE
  • Telematics infrastructure (TI): Platforms for secure data transmission.

Digital Health Applications (DiGA)

Digital health applications, or DiGA for short, are apps that can be prescribed by doctors and support diagnostics, therapy and prevention. They help treat chronic diseases, mental health and promote a healthy lifestyle. Approved by the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM), they offer tested quality and safety. DiGA are an important component of digital healthcare.

e-prescription and eAU

The e-prescription and the electronic certificate of incapacity for work (eAU) simplify the exchange between doctor, patient and pharmacy. Prescriptions and certificates can be issued digitally and sent securely - directly to your smartphone or to the health insurance company. This saves time, reduces paper consumption and ensures secure data transmission.

Interoperability: Standards such as HL7 FHIR and IHE

Interoperability is the foundation of networked healthcare. Standards such as HL7 FHIR and IHE enable the seamless exchange of health data between different systems and institutions. They ensure that patient information is transmitted securely and efficiently, without media disruption or data loss - a crucial step towards a future-proof digital infrastructure.

Telematics Infrastructure (TI)

The telematics infrastructure (TI) connects all players in the healthcare system via a uniform, secure network. From doctor's offices to hospitals and pharmacies, the TI enables the transmission of health information in compliance with data protection regulations. Applications such as the electronic patient record (ePA) and the e-prescription are central components that make healthcare digital, efficient and secure.
